The yacht

Hinewai

Daughter of the water

Hinewai under sail or at rest

After two long years of looking, Peter and Jean found their daughter of the water. They scoured brokers’ ads, the internet, and yards across Australia — over fifty yachts — before Hinewai claimed them.

Launched in 1985, built of steel in New Zealand by shipbuilding professional Paul Hazelwood, she is based on the proven Roberts Mauritius design with a strengthened keel for coral cruising. The key criteria were strength, safety and ease of handling. In Hinewai, those criteria were met.
